“The Gypsy King” · Heavyweight · 2008–2026

Wythenshawe, Manchester, then Styal in Cheshire: the son of Irish Traveller parents, born three months early and named after Mike Tyson by a father who had boxed professionally himself. He started boxing at 10 and left school at 11 to lay tarmac with his father and brothers. As an amateur he boxed for both England and Ireland, missed out on a place at the 2008 Olympics, and won the ABA super heavyweight title instead. In December 2008, at 20, Tyson Fury turned professional in Nottingham. Start at fight one and watch his career, one fight at a time.
